About The Artwork

Religion seems so serious. There is apparently not one bible passage where Jesus laughs, so I thought I make a painting where Jesus laughs, and Ram Dass and Alan Watts looking on. They are both advocates for a more playful approach to religion and spirituality. This is a paraphrase of a Mantegna work, famous for it´s use of perspective. The feet of Christ are much smaller than they would naturally be, and the tickeling I added draws extra attention there as well. The painting is done on MDF-board.
