There is both light and darkness in everyone and in everything 🌗✨ It’s the contrast between polar opposites that highlights the beauty in these opposing forces. I know it is light and shadow that initially draws me to a subject; the challenge of capturing the mood, time of day, and season in a representational yet loose way is what keeps me coming back to the easel. My painting process is very emotional and dynamic, a reflection of my soul. Those who buy my art can also see elements of themselves in it. I use a verity of tools and techniques on this oil painting to create a beautiful atmosphere that contrasts the joy and warmth the afternoon light brings, with the solitude of the snow covered forest.

Lina Swarovski is an Artist based in Tirol. Before discovering her calling as a contemporary painter, Lina trained and worked as a medical doctor. Inspired by the healing effect art therapy had on her oncology patients, Lina realized that the best medicine for her both personally and professionally is art. She traded in her scalpels and stethoscope for pallet knives and paint brushes. Her artwork celebrates the world around her, in particular Tirolean landscapes, its culture, and people. With subtle inspiration from her personal journey, and delicate nods to famous artists from the various countries in which she has lived; Lina’s work exudes the warmth and struggle of the human experience (even in her still life paintings) with the same bright, complex, and soulful energy that you feel when you meet her.
