Transitions Print

This work was inspired by my partner at the time who identified as the same gender that I do. I hope you will feel uncomfortable looking at different parts as transitions often are messy and imperfect. Gradually I anticipate a solidifying feeling of parts of a whole coming together and feeling satisfied with the result. I hope you viewers will reflect on the parts of yourselves that are hard to look at but make up the celestial magical soul being that I believe you are. Sometimes only when we try something new and spiral out of our comfort zones can we truly find the beautiful parts of ourselves that are magnificent and feel good. But often we must dig through and face inner obstacles, sabotaging beliefs, and push boundaries of what is possible. This is what I was exploring at the time of painting this. I chose many layers of acrylic paint trying to mimic an impressionist style of texture. This painstaking work took me over 20+ hours to complete. Finshed with an acrylic gloss finish.
