ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork is part of a series called TRANSMIGRATION created and exhibited in Galerie du Moïsan in Vieux Boucau, France (July-August 2022). Its creation is a result of the present-time meditative process. The energy of meditation is passing into a paper finding its form and shape, its color and tonality - its body. It transforms the vibration into a visual tangible state. The artist used the traditional calligraphy brush technique (Chinese ink on paper mounted on canvas) in a contemporary way to create this piece. In the same way that a tree bears fruit by transforming the elements of nature: water, wood, air, earth, and fire, meditation allows the artist to transform impressions from the outside world, process them inside of him and release them back transformed into the external world. Tamir worked in that way, soaking up the impressions of the glass sculptures of the French artist Xavier Carrere and transforming them in a spiritual trance into a form of calligraphy. Medium: Chinese ink, pure mineral pigment (red, blue), rice paper mounted on canvas
