About The Artwork
This painting came about in 1998 (yup quite a while ago) and happened in the spur of the moment. I had sat with this exact image in the depths of my inner vision. As soon as I had laid the paper, held the paint / palette knife in hand - it was all on paper before I knew it. This is pretty much how most of my oils and abstract have come to be expressed on paper and canvas. I would liken frenzied manner to painting to the same feeling when food is presented to a starving man - it's only when he has finished his meal does he then pause to take a look around with a sense of contentment. That's my hunger (=passion) satiated in colour, in art, in "---". If I am honest I still struggle to find the words with which to accurately describe this 'feeling'. I just can't explain it however this is the closest I can come to explaining. All said, the painting was done in less than 30 min (am guessing as I did not time myself). These are an all consuming moments which I ride on the crest of this creative wave.
