Nico Le Roux

Nico Le Roux is a professional freelance Visual, 3D, and Arch-Viz artist from South Africa. Since childhood, he developed a talent for drawing and had a huge interest in art, comic books, graphic novels, and film. From 2001 till 2017 he was certified and employed as a Forensic Criminalistic Expert specializing in Forensic Art in the South African Police Service. He often gave expert testimony in court. It is here where he did research into digital skull reconstruction, attended a vast range of workshops and courses with renowned universities, and also obtained experience with a wide range of CG Software packages. He still however would paint or sketch every day as well as experiment with digital painting and 3D design. Since 2016 he has devoted himself full time to his art. His collection of paintings & sketches is collected by local & international collectors. He is proficient in a wide range of CG software packages and loves Arch-Viz, digital sculpting, modeling, texturing, and character design disciplines. In 2020 Nico was fortunate to study under Kris Costa - 3D Artist of Industrial Light and Magic, regarding Realistic digital portraiture. He lives in Cape Town, South Africa with his wife, well-known music performer, and teacher, Sarah le Roux, and their Siamese cats.
