Trooping The Colour Print

Many British people are fond of pomp and ceremony, and any occasion involving the royal family draws wide coverage. The annual Trooping the Colour ceremony shows all the qualities of tradition and power. I wanted to give a humorous slant to this occasion, and remember with fondness the fun of my own childhood holidays at the seaside. The composition was digitally constructed then printed on to canvas using the emulsion transfer technique. Much consolidation work was necessary using acrylics to bring the elements to a successful whole. I hope the viewer finds the work humorous but appreciates the wider readings possible. The canvas is stretched over a wooden stretcher. It is signed on the back. The work will be shipped ready to hang but unframed.
