My name is Nick Gyllin. I'm trying to be the best artist I can do in my lifetime. I work towards a dreamy realism at the core and the meeting between man animal and man with nature as well as human food realism. I have been in depth without foundation for looking for that particular drama and applying it in my works, where you find and experience the mix of nature's cruelty but also beauty, this cruelty you also see in life versus her beauty. The aim is and manages to capture a fraction of that experience in an illustration for creating drama in brushstrokes and illustration. I want to develop live paintings behind the illustration. There should be both fixed hard points in my art but at the same time a more relaxed and loose part. In different shifts and layers, I work towards a vibrating light to build an experience of life in the oil painting. My tools range from palette knuckles, different types of brushes" flat, round, but also homemade tools, all the mediums available and just suit the situation. I have previously worked with Acryl, Pouring effects and watercolor painting, but Oil was what suited me best.
