ABOUT THE ARTWORK
While people argue how many years we have been on earth, our planet has belonged to animals for millions of years. The closest biological relatives of people are in danger. More than half of the existing primate species are on the verge of extinction, the population size of 75 percent of the monkey species is declining. The image of the monkey in my painting is collective, she looks at the result of human activity with irony. The cold urban landscape in the background contrasts with the relaxed King of nature, who understands and has already endured the pain because of human activity. The plant behind the throne is trying to break through, but it also has a hard time at the junction of civilizations. This creates tension that there is no more extra time. It's time to make decisions.
