Unidentified Print

This painting is part of a series on cinema and television. The narration of this work is based off of the countless shootings we have in the United States. Exhibiting this painting has caused me enough of a headache. Rather than imitating film, these paintings allude to the emotions of a Hollywood blockbuster, yet are based off of rather simple and innocuous photographs. Most of my works incorporate common lens effects seen in film such as motion blur, chromatic aberrations, and wide aperture focal points. With our daily consumption of media within the digital age of immediacy and an unending loop of content, these works are a collaged reflection of our idealized quest for entertainment.
