Bees, for example, use hexagons in honey production and reproduction, is it is easy to fit many hexagons close together and be efficient with the space they have. The concept of the painting is a universal pattern, which is why hexagons are involved to symbolise not only the strength of the systems around us, but also the repetition of these patterns on a variety of scales. The lighting-like branches stemming from the hexagons portray just that. From the branches of a tree to its roots, the majority of things take this form.
