ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Something very close to my heart is the plight of children around the world, who are forced to live on the streets or in poverty, who are without food or a warm, safe place to sleep, and at the mercy of strangers. I tried to convey how that might feel to a child with this piece, and softened the background so the child is the focus. Created in soft pastels on pastel board. Sepia tones will blend in with most rooms.

I am a self taught artist, having had a love for art from a young age. I am inspired greatly by my African heritage, I was born in Zimbabwe and later moved with my family to Cape Town, South Africa, and eventually settled in Australia after travelling the world as a young adult. I love portraying wildlife and nature, and also the cultural aspects of countries and people. I mostly use pastels as a medium, however have no leaning towards any style and subject in particular.
