About the Artist

Christoph Steinke

Germany

Art was born to me. My mother was a classical dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet, my father a theater actor. And my world became the visual arts. Initially by studying art and design in Germany and the USA. Then as a designer and art director in advertising and industry.

Until I decided to only devote myself to painting. The topic was clear, people were always the focus for me. I love the expression of human faces in all facets. I am particularly interested in strong emotions, also from the point of view of eroticism. I also like to ask people in front of my camera to implement their own image ideas. At the same time, I also paint well-known personalities and actors from films.

I live and paint in my own studio in Braunschweig in northern Germany.
