I was born in 1974 in Varese where i live and work. After a degree in Natural Sciences from the State University in Milan, my relationship with the landscape continued, examining it with a naturalist’s sensitivity and an artist’s eye. Working with oil on canvas, periods of work started that were first dedicated to landscape. i then began still-life painting to study volumes so as to get to my favourite subject: human figure. My bodies are painted sitting or laying on the floor, in a private and silent expectation, in old interiors that show an old decadent beauty, full of wrinkles, holes, different textures and colours just like everybody's life. Detail after detail you can easily become part of the scene, and imagine the state of mind of the subject. There’s often a contrast between old walls and young bodies, but after a while in that apparent contrast you can detect a relationship full of life and truth: walls and subject are deeply connected, they’re sympathetically feeling the same moment: carpe diem.
