This painting is a part of the cycle entitled "Sick Leave". Sick Leave is a necessary vacation from the digital world, a small excursion in search of a peace of mind saturated with digital reality and excess amount of information. It is a breather from the production of material or symbolic capital, a trip to exotic imaginary landscapes, to the world of organic shapes and surreal events. I started the painting cycle during isolation caused by infection with a covid virus. The paintings were created as a kind of panacea for tiredness provoked by a sickness and everyday work in front of a computer screen. In my artistic practice I focus mainly on the relationship of survivorship that man establishes with the post-natural environments he created. I am interested in how strongly industrialized endeavors and modern corporatization produce models of life rooted in escapism and tropical fantasies.
