Born in 1977 The term Locus Neminis was used in ancient Rome to refer to the silva, the wild forest areas, considered places belonging to no one. In a sense, that is how I think of the places suggested by my paintings. Each one is an interstitial zone that bears the traces of my passage and constitutes a place of transition where the viewers and I exchange looks. We stand outside the work together, looking in. I use black and white to create a balance, assert an abstraction. By putting reality at a distance, haunted or dreamlike echoes can be heard.
