ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I am always interested in the structures and different designs that man with his intellectual capacity has built and how all this helps to improve our way of living, but at the same time I am concerned about the amount of production, I find it interesting how these structures that intersect in the city and at the same time the human being is represented as something small in front of a building or bridge that crosses our cities. My studies in small format are carefully elaborated in their tones and strokes in order to be able to achieve a proposal very similar to a large format and in the same acrylic on canvas technique.

Current Project Acrylic Painting At Gallery 455, in the National Palace of Medellin, I present my permanent exhibition, where you can appreciate the results of more than three decades of research dedicated to integrating the processes and tools of the industry into contemporary artistic practices. Through this proposal, I seek to expand the limits of contemporary visual arts by combining traditional painting techniques with industrial innovations, intervening on canvas, paper or rigid supports using processes specifically designed for artistic paintings, opening a new path for the creation of unique and avant-garde works, already proposed by Peter Blake, Robert Rauschenberg artists in the mid-twentieth century who mixed images of popular culture with paintings creating visual collages that explore contemporary culture. This fusion between the industrial and the artisanal not only enriches the visual language, but also invites a reflection on contemporary artistic production My research has led to a fascinating metamorphosis: I have turned the meshes into pictorial tools, the ideal bridge to connect digital aesthetics with analog creation in contemporary art, it is like using large-format brushes. The meshes are customized so that they allow applying acrylic paint with precision on different surfaces, exploring the opacity and texture of acrylic paint, offering a range of vibrant colors and unique versatility. By using the meshes with acrylic paint, I can play with opacity and transparency. The layers of color are superimposed, creating intriguing visual effects and textures. My current project celebrates creativity, experimentation and the connection between disciplines. The meshes now impregnated with acrylic paint, are witnesses of this transformation.
