About The Artwork
Inspired by my experiences in Hawaii, where I found inspiration from surfing, the ocean, and the power of nature. Painting and printmaking are both represented in my technique, which involves different layers of paint and materials repeatedly added and then removed over time. I attempt to explore a variety of textures and depth until the result is multi-dimentional and complex composition and the final painting feels both serene and charged simultaneaously. The painting evokes different feelings and engagement as the daylight changes and the viewer moves around the piece.
