Hide-and-seek comes up in one way or another in many of my works. Often the face of a figure is covered, or in the case of the painting The Boarded-up Window, the occupant of the house has exposed himself and hidden behind boarded-up windows. In Lookout, we are cast in the role of the peeper, but th...

“I needed to write, to express myself through written language not only so that others might hear me but so that I could hear myself.” – Gabor Maté And I need to express myself through art. The summer of 2024 was a very productive period for me, and as a result, my studio work changed. The previous “greyish” colour scheme was replaced by a more raw, expressive, and colourful formulation, with the aim of achieving “self-identical painting.” I asked myself, where am I in the material, how do I paint, and how can I express myself through it? I was looking for a technical formulation closer to my inner self. I am so sensitive to some questions, especially women’s issues. I want to express something about a naked woman’s body, but I am especially looking for the answer. Related to questions of self-identity, self-observation, self-reflection, my identity, my place, my role and the psychological boundaries of body and soul in my work. In a way, it appears as a lyrical self, dealing with questions of self, as it were, and through it, in a broader sense, it also deals with women’s issues and identity. Emphasis on concepts such as vulnerability, burden, hiding and showing, objectification, personality and impersonality. / Hungarian artist based Budapest, Hungary. SCHOOLS 2011-2016.
