ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is an abstract expressionist landscape finished off with graphite and oil and chalk pastels to give it roughness and sharper lines. Some of the lines are a play off of small streams that may run down a mountain and/or mountain trails drawn on a map. The painting will be backed and wired and ready to hang along with a certificate of authenticity attached to the back. It is varnished with a gloss varnish for brighter colors.

Thien was born in Vietnam, Bien Hoa Dong Nai, northeast of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). His family came to the United States in 1992 when he was about 3 years old. Thien believes that growing up in a culturally diverse neighborhood helped him keep an open mind on how to live our daily lives as well as important factors/issues. He believes that has a big influence on how he creates his own artwork. Thien specializes in abstract landscapes, mostly involving mountainous terrain because of their natural abstract shapes.
