ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This image was inspired by a photograph of a very familiar walk, local to me. The scene is a beaten track from an RAF base, across a field, to a village, with the Church in the distance. I was keen to recreate the scene, invoking the simplicity of a rural walk. This was achieved using very basic watercolour strokes, with detail picked out using suggestive fine line additions. This restrained approach creates a simple image that expresses the scene without overworking the image. Watercolour was used for its ability to produce delicate work.
