ABOUT THE ARTWORK
If I were to describe what water feels like in words, I couldn't. But if I could present it through the form two different bodies make with one another, there is nothing more I need to say. The painting is an expression of the nature of the element of water, not only water as a substance but the watery state of being as well. In this painting, I explore the complexity of Water by assigning it the entire physical space of the painting. Water is represented via the two bodies as well as all the space that lies in between them. This is to emphasize the contradictory notion of water's nature to connect as well as to separate. Water can be life-giving, it can be life-taking. Water is everything.

Born in Cairo to Egyptian-Sudanese parents, I was raised between the UK, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. I am a self-taught painter who found my way to art in 2015 when I decided to leave behind a career in Economics to pursue a more creative and fulfilling life.
