ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the dark night, I took a small boat with a flashlight and came to a quiet harbor. There, my friends, the whale family, are resting peacefully. They are travelers from far away, looking for peace in this night. I rowed lightly, listening to their deep breathing. I think of Tagore's poem "quiet night, the stars shine". It is truly a paradise. I stopped the boat and walked gently ashore. I'm going to see if they're really happy. They turned to look at me as I approached. I run my hands over their heads, feeling their soft skin. "Hello, friend," I said.
