ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A young girl travels to the Moon in her dreams, just like an artist. The surface of the Moon is not only illuminated by the Sun but it also reflects the light of Earth. The Earth's disk hangs in the lunar sky and it is almost motionless. Earth lights up the lunar night 50 times brighter than a full Moon. "Salve, Terra! Feat Lux" - written on the moon arch. These words in English became the name of the painting.

Halina Valeryeuna Horava was born on May 11, 1972 in Minsk.Halina Horava has been fully engaged in national and international art exhibitions since 1996. In 2000, she became a Member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Pahonia Creative Association. She works in the field of easel painting and has created more than one hundred paintings. Most of her paintings are devoted to the space theme. Halina Horava's creative concept is that it is an artistic image that currently provides the most complete opportunity to be in touch with the beauty of the Universe. Her paintings, dedicated to Space, are an attempt to visually master the immediate space environment, a journey to the planets of our star system. The artist usually relies on modern astronomical images creating her cosmic landscapes, however sometimes she constructs completely fantastic landscapes. She presents space on her paintings as a theater of constant and continuous actions, where the plot intrigues are never less exciting than any Earthly events. The first Belarusian painter-cosmist, Yazep Drazdovich, is the art ideal and example to follow for Halina Horava. She often participated in art open-airs dedicated to this famous artist. There are the artist's paintings in the state collections of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Mogilev Regional Art Museum, the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature, and in private collections in Belarus, Russia, Germany, the USA, and France.
