This is piece made entirely from resin. I've always loved the natural world, and thought the Savannah would be fun. The giraffe is playful, saying, "Oy you, welcome to my home". Designing the tree in such a way to cross resin colours was a minor challenge, but clearly belongs in the setting. If...

Hi, I'm Mick and I'm a resin artist living in Tambourine Mountain, Australia. For the last 7yrs, I've raised my son alone who suffered from addiction and has mental illness. He's an inspiring young man who's clean and doing well. Now, I'm working as a full time artist. I've done art all my life and it's traditionally been colourful, but I could never replicate the vibrance of digital to canvas using conventional mediums. Then I discovered resin. Resin art is beautiful, and it's primarily abstract or used to glass coat over other mediums. It's taken me awhile to master and a lot of mistakes to fine tune the right materials and process, and I like to think I've take resin art to the next level to produce imaged, non-abstract resin only art...and I love it. My resin is coloured with pigments and inks and nothing is painted but the edge, everything you see has been poured from liquid resin, often one drop at a time. Each piece is finished with a high gloss glass coat that is UV, food grade quality resin to really enhance colour. Each piece takes me about two weeks to complete. Due to the nature of resin, you can commission any of my work in whatever colour or size to suit your home or business decor.
