ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have always enjoyed looking at and exploring historic aspects of the English landscape, in particular religious iconography that can be found. When you look at and explore these structures, and consider the social and environmental history that has occurred, you are left with a sense of awe and wonder at what has been. This painting aims to try and capture some of this. Using oil paint allows for the capturing of time, and through this a reflection on the essence in what is trying to be achieved.
