About The Artwork
"Wet" is a series of watercolor sketches in which I recall various reservoirs, backwaters, swamps, rivers and lakes. They are places of peace, wild and alive. In times of climate change and wet and humid droughts are a treasure. In this picture, I drew the water with two colors. The watercolor is the best way to reflect the nature of the waves, because it is water-dilutable itself and has the amazing glow of the pigment, which is also characteristic of water. It is an ambiguous color, constantly changing. I have been fascinated with this property for years.

I move between different styles, combining abstraction with figuration. Concerning themes and my color palette, I have no restrictions, with one exception: I avoid dramatism in depicted situations. Only the scale between extensive backgrounds and minor human figures or vehicles is constant. I am inspired by Dutch painting, especially by Peter Breughel.
