"Whispers in blue" Print

Eliza Azatian, born 1996 in Ukraine, is a San Francisco–based artist working primarily in painting. She builds immersive atmospheres where color and form carry emotion and meaning. Thin veils of acrylic, soft oil passages, and muted transitions accumulate into spaces that feel both near and distant. Eliza often paints across materials of different transparency, such as raw canvas, sheer fabric, and reflective grounds, allowing light to move through or bounce back and transform the image as it’s viewed. Instead of outlining structure, she lets temperature, density, and gentle gradients guide the composition, so images seem to hover, breathe, and remain open to interpretation. Her process combines acrylic, oil, oil sticks, chalk, and graphite on raw or lightly prepared surfaces. Layers are stained, wiped, and partially erased, keeping the surface porous and alive. Through these gestures, she explores how emotion settles as ambience and how color can hold feeling in suspension. Eliza’s paintings invite a pause within daily life — a quiet space where tenderness, nostalgia, and stillness can surface. Her work investigates how inner states and human connection leave subtle, layered imprints that shape our sense of self over time.
