Admire the grace and beauty country life with this stunning watercolor painting featuring a white cat standing in the doorway. Behold as the curious creature gazes out over the scenic countryside as an orange tree heavy with fruit drops oranges to the ground. Every intricate detail of the old shed with its old white French door and brick background wall is captured in the artwork, immersing you in the tranquil scene. I am Paula Bridges, born and raised in Texas. My favorite thing to do is to combine my art with travel. Having worked in the airline industry since 1986, I have been able to combine these two passions. Although I do plein air painting, my main practice is to take photos and bring them back to my studio where I bury myself in watercolor. My love for watercolor has grown out of the challenge it presents. Water and pigment flow in a semi uncontrolled way and I enjoy creating a painting from this process using bold bright colors with different levels of value. I do like to paint animals; however, landscapes are my love with a never ending supply of subjects from all over the world. After I complete a painting, I always send it to my 86 year old mother to critique. She was my first inspiration to paint being an artist herself.
