About The Artwork
This oil painting is inspired by the wild, farming landscape of Ireland. During this latest lockdown, I've felt so lucky to live in such a beautiful, historic, romantic country. I live on what is known as the Wild Atlantic Way on the west of Ireland. Speckled with remote beaches, magnificent cliffs, ancient castle ruins and beautiful villages, it is one of most beautiful places to be. While enjoying the local walks in January, I happened upon this small farm lane. The evening was closing in slowly and the snow was starting to frost over, crisp. This painting was born! Winter can be more beautiful than summer, if we just wrap up warm and go out to explore!

Hi, my name is Shóna and I am from Ireland. I am a self taught visual artist, working in both oils and digital. I also work as a freelance illustrator and designer. I live in the West of the country, in a small village, with my partner and my two Jack Russell Terriers. My work is based mostly on emotions and nature, how they influence one another and how incredible the weather is in Ireland. We can have several seasons in one day, and I find that fascinating and beautiful. I try to bring movement, depth, emotions into my work.
