About The Artwork

This is the second of a series of blue garden paintings. Nature inspired. Linear, graphic, colourful, playful and positive. I love to layer and discover accidental imagery as a result of overlapping shapes and colours. What I see will be different each time I look at the painting, and the same goes for anyone else viewing the painting. There is a flower that I particularly love, that I would describe as a spiky dahlia. I picture it in white, but have painted it yellows. When I completed this painting these flowers loosely reminded me of Matisse's Cut-outs. These will ship in a crate, 44x52x8". To save on weight and space they could be rolled in a tube. As well, this painting could be sold as separate paintings. You can contact curator@saatchiart.com for the adjusted prices of these alternative options.

In my studio, accidents happen, and that moves my work forward. It is always exciting to watch work take on a life of its own. I begin with the end in mind, and always land in a different place. I work hard to develop original works – avoiding trends and following the direction of the work – in the moment. My colourful works reflect my love of colour, and design. Works are held in private and public collections worldwide.
