ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Driving through the state of North Carolina, I was so thrilled by the wild white, purple lilacs vines, that had overtaken the fresh greenery along the roadside. The hanging blooms, against the fresh green and pink plant life, with the sky peeking through, made me want to paint this springtime event. I have been working in Acrylic paints lately and found the vibrancy of this medium, helped to build the scene. There are layers of paint, accenting the under growth and the 3 demential presentation of these flowers. I am a loose painter making the wild and abstract expression of the scene an enjoyable one to paint. I had a large piece of canvas paper, and its smooth surface, made the image glide to completion. The surface is uv protected and ready to tack to a board, allowing it to be presented with or without glass.
