I worked as an artist in a famous opera house, from where I left to just paint. My watercolors presented here are a concentrated memory of warm days. In fact, I paint leaves - Leaves of Grass, I would say... Every year with the summer time the process is renewed. I do not follow the strict rules of botanical art, my work is not copying plants but interpreting what I see and feel. When I work with watercolors, I usually take a specific leaf or flower as a basis, but I move very far from it. I study the plant before I start painting it, but I don’t copy it exactly; at some point I move on to improvisation. I don’t know how to work slowly, so I paint the entire watercolor quickly and completely.
