The painting was inspired by the beauty, majesty and timelessness of nature. I hope that in my painting I have captured what is invisible to the eye.

When I painting landscapes, I usually choose simple geometric arrangements, contrasts of verticals and levels. I juxtapose the smooth surface of the sky with the rough texture of earth or grass. I paint symmetrical reflections in water and rhythmic repetitions of trees. Even an ordinary, seemingly uninteresting fragment of the suburban landscape hides a beauty that I want to see and then transfer to the canvas. I am inspired by nature because it contains a hidden secret of existence. For me, painting it is a reflection on life and passing away. It is an attempt to capture the imperceptible essence, to paint what cannot be seen. I think that my paintings can be a respite, an antidote for a man tired of technology, constant rush, hustle and bustle of the city. Grzegorz Wójcik works in landscape painting in acrylic and oil techniques. The artist's paintings are a contemplation of pure nature, devoid of ornaments, the presence of a human being, extremely economical in expression. Symbiosis and harmony of form, color and shape. Trees, grasses, meadows, a lake - the unspoken elements of the native landscape freeze in undisturbed silence, silently dialogue. Due to this lack of definition, they acquire a monumental character. The changeability of colors is conditioned by the passing of the seasons. Light reflections, reflections, patches of color take on a cold, sometimes warm color, sinking into grays, whites and browns. The artist emphasizes fragments of the pictorial field with a clear brush stroke, the texture is highlighted with acrylic and modeling paste. The horizon line is intersected by vertical stripes of grasses and trees. Distinct statics and pure patches of color evoke a mood of melancholic silence. Eternal, universal in character, fleeting, like in the Japanese ukiyo-e - the changeability of the world that flows. Text by Ms Elżbieta Miśkiewicz-Zamojska
