ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I love this painting, there was a lot of satisfaction in painting this one. I guess my individuality really shows in this piece. The theme is the difference between winter on the bottom, dark and gloomy and summer on the top all bright and bursting with life. I have a beautiful garden ( mainly the wife's doing ) but i grow the vegies, and there is a big difference growing things in different seasons. Hence the subject matter and the title. This is another of my paintings where NO brushes were use. I just love experimenting with different techniques. If you have a close look and are at all interested how it is painted, just ask i would love to tell you. The painting is 122 cm high and 91 cm wide and 4 cm deep and weighs 2.5 Kg. It is varnished to enhance the color and to protect the paint. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushion to protect your walls. This painting will be shipped in a crate.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette. His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured plaster bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination. His work is displayed in galleries on the Central Coast and in private collections. .
