ABOUT THE ARTWORK

During the pandemic, I had a visit in my studio, was a friend of mine, she was wearing a green hat, the eyes were exactly the color of the hat, in the same moment there was a beautiful light coming from the window of the north side, and that was it. I ask her if she can pose for me.:)

Anna Arcese born in Frosinone, Italy. She attended the Rome Academy of Fine Art and graduated in 1989, specializing in painting on canvas. Anna continued painting and continued her education in the arts though International Bursaries for study. Anna attended CEPA (European Centre of Art) in Luxembourg and also the Institute of Figurative Arts “Nikolai Pavolich” Sofia, Bulgaria. As well as produce canvasses, Anna entered the world of Restoration and Decoration, during the early 90’s when Italian government was investing in the restoration of it’s National Heritage ‘Beni Culturali’ and participated in many large scale restorations. Anna left Italy in 1997 and lived in Brussels, Belgium, were she attended the World renowned Van der Kelen School where she studied decorative techniques in the French style. Although Anna was building a career in the decorating field, she continued to produce fine art canvasses. Anna moved to Leiden (the home of Rembrandt), in the Netherlands in 1999 where she opened her first Studio in the historical centre of the town. In 2002, due to the success of her activities, Anna moved to a larger studio close to the National Museum of Antiquities and more importantly, The Hortus Botanicus, the oldest botanical garden of the Netherlands. During the years, Anna’s work has been displayed in galleries and exhibits throughout Europe. Her style has developed over the years and the works being offered by her today are of an exceptional clarity and quality. Anna participates in regular art events in the Holland region and this year participated in the Rembrandt’s 400th anniversary celebration here in Leiden. She lives and work between Leiden NL and Dubai UAE
