ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting depicts an everyday scene in the city of Varanasi - two women in saris are sitting on the threshold of a house. Their house is right next to the Ganges River. I spied this scene during a trip to this sacred and colorful Indian city. I don’t know exactly who these women are to each other, but when I saw them, a finished composition was immediately born in my head. I am also a big animal lover, especially cats, and of course, this big gray cat fits very well into the composition! I bought a canvas and a stretcher from a local market and started painting right away. This painting is coated with acrylic styrene art varnish, fade-resistant, and easy to care for. I will send it carefully in a tube or box (on request) with all required documents attached.
