Maja Stojnović, born in Serbia in 1989. She finished Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, bachelor's and master's degrees in painting. She exhibited on a several group exhibition in country and abroad. Four years she is actively working with children and adults with autism spectrum disorder art therapy. Also, she organized a few theirs exhibition. ARTIST STATEMENT: My painting is developed in a process of reflection and abstraction, as something which doesn’t have a form but is abstract expression. Wall surface for me is an inspiration on which I contemplate and transform sight into a abstract artistic expression. Otherwise, my painting can be seen as realistic, because it represents just a wall surface, but that wall, in its frame as a painting, is abstract. My begining point is a reality of walls in bathrooms, toilets, which is determined as private and intimate space. Starting from that stain, taint, sign I purify it and it that way I achive abstract painting which I further develop according to my own rules. Results which I get don’t contain distinctive reality. My works don’t prove, but rather point to other possible insights.
