I (1970) was born in Korea, graduated with a master's degree from China Academy of Art in China, and currently lives and works in Seou,l, Korea. The flat expression technique is mainly used as the Hard Edge technique using colors, lines, and planes. I have studied four pillars of destiny for a long time, and I would like to express the inspiration from it through my artwork. Four pillars of destiny is one of the Eastern philosophies that has been handed down from the East for a very long time, classifying the universe and whole things in the world into elements of Yin-Yang and Five-Elements - tree, fire, water, metal, earth - and helps people to pioneer their fate by adding and subtracting elements that are beneficial to humans. In four pillars of destiny , art, religion, and philosophy are identified in one category, and what they have in common is that they deal with intangible and invisible areas. Traditionally, people in the East owned paintings for very practical reasons, such as preventing bad luck, wealth, happy marriage, and a desire for a healthy life. They believed that if they owned a paintings with a good meaning, it would have a good effect on them and their families, and such customs are still being passed down. The Bihyu series I mainly paint is a legendary animal in traditional Chinese mythology, and it is said to be very fierce and brave to chase away bad luck. Although it looks scary, many people carry 'Bihyu' ornaments like amulets because they help humans and give them good energy. Especially Bihyu is widely known as a symbol of wealth because there is no anus in the body, so it is said that it can be rich as a symbol of wealth because it only eats and does not emit. Modern society has come to material abundance, but people struggle more mentally than before and sometimes fall into anxiety and depression. If a guardian deity like Bihyu protects them from darkness, people will be able to live happier and more positive lives. Bihyu in my painting is playful and naughty like a cartoon character, unlike the ferocious Bihyu in legend. These Legendary scary animals live a modern life with people in a familiar and modern way . The color was also intended to be a soft and cute image using pastel-toned colors that can make people happy and stable. Bihyu hanging in someone's room will give the person a pleasant imagination and give him/her a good energy to get everything he/she wants, to be energetic, positive.
