This is a water colour painting of ghat in varanasi are riverfront steps leading to the banks of the River Ganges.The city has 88 ghats. Most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremony ghats. Most varanasi ghats were rebuilt after 1700 AD, when the city was part of Maratha Empire I chose water colour medium because i am very passionate about this medium,the moment i put water on the paper and spreads colour on it, that colour takes its own shapes and moods that really excites me
