About the Artist
Jeanne Bensoussan
A young self- taught painter from The Var (France), JB studies « Beaux Arts « in Toulon and assiduously attends Magali Dulac’s painting workshop for ten years.
My work alternates between figurative and free abstract art.
Where figurative art is concerned I travel the world of plants ,animals and humans.
For abstraction I plunge myself into a more personal and eclectic universe .
In short I literally attempt to explore « the world » to capture its fragile and varied aspects or its beauty.
Many tools and techniques are used : brush, knife and roller.
I enjoy mixing different techniques : acrylic,oil, watercolour, modeling paste ,pigments and glue on various media :card recovery, hardboard, foamboard,canvas.
I can spend months without actually painting . In these moments I observe living creatures and nature until a genuine pictorial instinct springs, spontaneously without theorizing or wasting its energy in speech.
