Mike Wosnitzka is a German artist. At the age of fifteen he became a private student of the visual artist Peter Blaeser, living and working in Düsseldorf / Germany. By personal and artistic confrontation with his teacher, as well as other artists like Jörg Immendorff he developed his own understanding of art. When he was nineteen, he became an assistant of the Swiss foto-realistic painter Philippe Devaud. Besides getting an insight into classic materials and their use in painting, he learned a painting technique, which distinguishes itself through an application of colours of mostly unmixed superimposed layers of paint, inspired by the works of Dutch masters like “Vermeer van Delft” (1632-1675). On this basis, Mike Wosnitzka developed his own technique. Beginning with the underpainting, further application of colour is carried out in multiple layers. He attaches great importance to a dynamic application of paint and a very plastic depiction of objects and structures. In his paintings, the artist always comments on the existential questions of human existence with a focus on emotional aspects. From 2012 to 2018, the artist Mike Wosnitzka was represented by the renowned Achtzig-Gallery / Museum for contemporary art in Berlin, which is seen as one of the first addresses for contemporary fine art, young art and „Leipziger Schule“ in Berlin. As a permanent artist, his works were presented on a regular basis. At the international artfair „Berliner Liste 2013“, the artist was represented by the Achtzig-Gallery / Museum. The presented works showed sensual female nude paintings as a skilful selection of topics in historical colours. One of the displayed works was presented in the associated exhibition catalogue. 2021 Founding member of the studio community "Atelier eins" in Wiesbaden / Germany
