ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Modern life as sentient beings, in its megacities they make us feel more vulnerable in the way we feel, move through the city we live in. We see proof of this difficulty with the covid 19 that makes us confine ourselves in our spaces. This image is the product of that inspiration. I hope that the public is sensitive to this concern that is becoming more evident today.

Personal Presentation in Times of Pandemic I was born into a middle-class family, with the traditional characteristics of a time with values of improving oneself financially through work and dedication, in activities that left good money. And art, it was driven as entertainment by my mother. I studied at the Technical School of Electricity. In addition to working as a technician, I was trained in guitar, theater, dance, until I was exclusively identified with the plastic arts from the age of 50. I discover that being an individual activity, despite my shyness, it allows me to develop it with passion, and to learn with the works of the masters of the 19th and 20th centuries, together with teachers from my environment, to solve my work. I am publishing on social networks, and this time of consumption restrictions and distractions with other people, I reach an audience that does not have artistic activities, but with a demand for the visual arts also motivated by the Selfis world. I accompany with music relevant to the message of the work, or phrases of minstrels that give another dimension to the work. I believe that the viewer does not have to receive all the information, but only some trace so that he can choose within that direction, which path he wants to take to complete the painting or the emotions that I seek to convey with him. In the History of Art there were painters who gained their fame with acts that drew attention and this served, perhaps, to make themselves known. Times have changed, what was a Culture for a sector of society that could pay large sums of money is no longer the case. Culture is consumed through networks and the acquisition of a work is a pleasure for the same sectors as before, but sharing emotions is a necessity in times of isolation and loneliness. Today the pandemic challenges us to provoke the viewer, from the discomfort that as a society, we could not overcome our gaze on our own and individual well-being and justify injustices without building new views on a world that must be cared for in its natural resources and with sustainable economies . It is from there that I place myself, in reaching an audience hungry for other consumptions, that the image of the painting prompts them to feel another window to a reality that of closures and permissions does not stop putting it in and leaving it outside the system.
