This is an original painting created in Denver, Colorado on a trip I took to participate in a gallery show at Blackbook Gallery, which was a very exciting time. Despite the accomplishment, I was feeling the "imposter syndrome." Being in a show with such reputable artists was a new world to me and I didn't think that I belonged. It was exciting but foreign. This piece was my solace and expression of the feelings of both turmoil and vindication I was simultaneously going through. The colors and shapes are a mix of abstraction of my graffiti background and influences in postmodern art. My hope is that that painting brings peace and joy as a reflection of the beauty that can come out of internal stressors.
