I was born and raised in Korea. I majored in sculpture and dancheong. Dancheong refers to a pattern painted on traditional Korean architecture. Also, I am a cultural property repair technician. Traditional Korean architecture is made of wood. Dancheong was painted on buildings from at least the fourth century to prevent corrosion of wood. Dancheong has a variety of styles, from simple monochromatic paint to complex patterns. The Dancheong pattern has permeated the lives of Koreans for a long time and forms the basis of Korean culture. As a cultural property repair skill and artist, I felt the need for Dancheong to be expressed as a painting work, not just as an architectural decoration. The Dancheong composition series is made of Dancheong pigment used in actual Dancheong construction. Unlike ordinary pigments, Dancheong pigments are highly durable, weather-resistant, heat-resistant, alkali-resistant, acid-resistant, and light-resistant, so they are preserved for a long time
