Juliano Mazzuchini is a Brazilian visual artist whose trajectory began in theater, working as an actor before turning to painting. This formative experience remains central to his practice, where the body, gesture, and presence operate as structural elements rather than themes. His paintings approach the figure not as representation, but as a site of friction between action and image, visibility and opacity. Mazzuchini treats the pictorial gesture as a carrier of meaning. The brushstroke, the stain, and the physical act of painting function as forces that destabilize narrative and fixed interpretation. His figurative work often approaches abstraction, not through formal reduction, but through excess—of body, rhythm, and sensory tension. Living and working in Brazil, his practice investigates painting as a space where gesture becomes thought and the image remains unresolved.
