PING FREDERIKS:
"Her art speaks and moves ..."
Our time is dominated by Visual media. Impressions from television, Internet and newspapers. Pictures of the media have strong influence on the way how we people handle each other and the world around us.
Ping Frederiks deals in their work with these effects on us humans, in particular on women. She observes the psychological, social, and political aspects of our media-dominated age and she does not look away for controversial topics. Ping surches for the relationships between people and transmits all this with a tremendous immediacy and expressiveness in her pictures. Her intense, emotionally charged paintings and drawings speak with us and they move us.
