A yearn for unity, a yearn for progress, it is about time "oh Africa! we have waited for too long", I believe it is time for the African peoples powered highway that will connect the diaspora and motherland, a global highway for African people all over the world to discover themselves to remember that the only thing that unites black people globally; the only thing we have in common is that we are Africans It is a new vision, a quest for discovery and unity for the progress of the motherland “Africa”, the newsprint also makes social commentary as I try to blend every media to create dynamics. I won't keep the viewer curious and mindblown and to also feel the expressions from the figures, I want the viewer to feel the emotion from my expressions as to leave them astonished about my dedication to this masterpiece.

My name is Stephen Aifegha, I was born in Lagos state; the western part of Nigeria often known as the New York of Nigeria, due to its metropolitan structure backed up with the daily hustle and bustle. My artistic practice is influenced by my identity and culture as an African, being born and raised in Nigeria. My subject matter and narrative as a contemporary African artist revolves around Post-colonialism, centering on historical, social, and cultural issues that concern Africa today. My art is an activism regarding these problems and issues faced by the continent of Africa. It draws back to post-colonial setbacks that have caused tremendous distress for Africa today. I am a mixed media artist who uses original African fabrics and newsprint as a major element in my art, the African fabrics are used to show my identity as an African and give an insight into my subject matter or narrative as it concerns issues regarding the African continent and the diaspora, the newsprint at the other hand, I use to seek texture and make social commentary. Both the fabrics and newsprint put together create a feeling of dynamism to the viewer.
