About the Artist

Laura Corre

Italy

Laura Corre, born in Montecatini Terme in 1973, lives in Tuscany (PT), where she teaches painting to adults and children in her "Cantiere d'Arte".
She graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures in Florence while she followed her path in the visual arts in parallel.
Her interest focuses on the female figure. Through both an introspective and social investigation she touches on themes such as stereotypes, feminism, the psyche-body relationship, drawing inspiration both from her own experience and from today's society. As conceptual realism, with her portraits she tells the thoughts, emotions and stories of contemporary women. Another recurring subject is nature. She mainly paints oil and acrylics on canvas.
In 2022 she won the first prize in the Umbrian "Falsi d'autore" competition while in 2021 she is among the finalists of the Apulian prize "Il francobollo d'Oro".
Her works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad and are part of public (including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montecatini Terme) and private collections throughout the world.
