ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It is the light above the water, the reflections, the sea air and the sound of the rippling waves on the shore, everything outshone by summer light. That inspired me to create this picture. I paint a summer picture every year and since I live close to the water, near the North Sea, all my summer pictures have to do with water, ships and the light. I hope that this picture from 2020 gives the viewer a positive light feeling.

I was born (1953) and raised in Andernach by the river Rhein. After my studies I lived and worked in many different places like Ibiza, Gomera, Kathmandu, India and Kyoto in Japan as a freelance artist for almost 13 years. In those places I had many solo exhibitions. Landscapes and especially trees and water in all their different varieties reveal for me very intense feelings - they are full of hidden perceptions and memories, also they appear as a constant challenge to express in my art works.
